Milestack solves a trust problem that comes up constantly for independent freelancers and agencies: a client is found, but there's no safe way to handle payment, scope, and delivery without a marketplace platform taking a cut. The brief was to build that missing layer, a workspace that protects both sides without forcing anyone onto a new marketplace.
Every project runs through the same trusted sequence: invite a client with a link, break the work into priced milestones, have the client fund the project into escrow, deliver and get approval, then release payment. Freelancers keep 100% of what they earn; clients pay a transparent Project Protection Fee for the security. Contracts are generated automatically from the milestones themselves, so scope is never a separate conversation.
We designed the dashboard around the one number that matters most to a freelancer: what's actually available to withdraw right now, versus what's still in escrow or pending. Workspaces, milestones, and contracts all live as their own dedicated views, so both sides can always see exactly where the money and the work stand.
